About The Role

The Design Manager will oversee andinspire a tactical in-house team of designers and is responsible for theproduction of first class online and offline materials for all marketingchannels.

The Design Manager will be an on-trend up to date creative ensuringthe style and appearance of our products and communications across all digitalchannels is ground-breaking and world-class. The role will be the driving forcein defining and maintaining the visual design of all marketing communications.The Design Manager involves liaising with representatives from all channels inorder to generate strong creative concepts and ideas culminating in thedelivery of accurate, on brand, effective production across all platforms.

The Design Manager works in the Creative department and reports to theHead of Creative

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the team cultivating a culture where continuous improvement is embraced
  • Provide development, coaching, objectives and goal setting, performance management and other people policies as required from time to time; ensure team is motivated, productive and fully compliant with all regulations, legislation
  • Producing and supporting the creation of high quality design work for marketing communications both offline and online, including digital design, motion graphics, print and animation
  • Ensuring high standards of work throughout all the team's deliverables and that all due dates are met and prioritising all projects and requests in line with business requirements
  • Consulting and advising on all projects across the business where design input is required, and liaising with third parties when necessary to ensure all materials are executed to high quality and on brand
  • Providing feedback and recommendations to assist the Head of Creative obtain sign off from/for business
  • Source and manage third party suppliers, freelancers and agencies when necessary to support business demand outside of the usual structure
  • Working with research partners to plan approach, test and validate design solutions with customers to ensure the designs are fit for purpose
  • Implementing best practice Design methodology and process throughout the team to ensure the delivery of design consistency and customer centricity
  • Post-campaign assessments and quality checks of production output to ensure completed work is error-free and can be reused if necessary
  • Leading and creating client presentations & consultations to obtain client feedback and approval on designs
  • Be accountable for the delivery of all design production and delivery across the business for all brands ensuring quality on time
  • Be responsible for the upkeep and evolution of the visual elements of all brand communications
  • Be responsible for the optimizing and evolution of Design aspects of brand guidelines and positioning
  • Identifying opportunities to develop and evolve existing and new work by continually optimizing all products to stay within trend 

Experience and Skills

  • Senior level of experience in managing design teams in a highly productionised environment
  • Strong stakeholder management experience
  • Previous experience of strategic planning and budget management
  • University-level education in design, media, art, or similar
  • Strong understanding of Brand guidelines & design principles for offline and online media
  • Ability to create simple, engaging web graphics
  • Strong communications skills (written, verbal and presentational)
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and third party service providers
  • Previous track record of creating innovative digital experiences that yield an impressive ROI
  • Management and mentoring skills
Additional Information

This contract is for 40 hours per week (Generally 9am – 6pm) over 5 days, Monday to Friday.  We offer competitive salaries, employee benefits as well as relocation assistance. The benefits scheme includes AXA PPP Worldwide Healthcare Cover.  This role is based in Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory on the edge of southern Spain and just a few miles from North Africa, boasting approx. 2,778 hours of sunshine per year (compared to 1,460 hours in London).
